Turkey Day

We had a very nice Thanksgiving this year (bonus was that the weather was beautiful). We spent the afternoon at John's Aunt Robin's house -- and then headed over to my Uncle Richard's house for our second helping of turkey. The kids kept everyone entertained. We even managed to get down to see the Plaza lights...from our car...but the fireworks and lights were still cool. We have lots to be thankful for!
This one is funny...they look like grown ups in their chairs.

Clearly Alex decided the TV was more important than me.

My little turkeys!

Hannah may have eaten an entire can of black olives....here she is modeling one.

Happy 1st Birthday to Alex!

We really can't believe that it's already been a year since little Alexander Joseph (aka Alex, Ali-Baba, big Al, Allie) came into our lives. It has gone so fast - but has been so fun. Here are some pics from his birthday extravaganza.

Hannah and Alex checking out the big "1" balloon.

Little Elvis..I mean Alex...before his party.

Check out my new tractor.

Alex and his NeeNaw.

Alex and GaGa (he looks a bit stunned).

Dinner time.

Hanging in the basement.

Trying to feed Alex some cake.

Kinda looks like Christmas in here.

The day after...excited to play with all the new toys.

Getting to meet Elmo the day after his birthday...priceless!

Halloween

Here are a few pics from Halloween. Hannah was a butterfly princess and Alex was a monkey. Hannah had a great time at her Halloween party at school...her favorite part was at the end when they got to dance (to Ghostbusters...hilarious). That night - Hannah got to trick-or-treat for the first time around our neighborhood. Alex made an early exit...he was not fond of his "monkey suit".

Hannah's class getting ready for the sing-along.

Hannah showing of her costume.

Hannah and her "best friend" Maeve.

Attempting a family shot before heading off to trick-or-treat.

Can you tell someone was excited?

Haircut...well sort of

So Alex's hair is a bit wild (to say the least) - but his bangs had really started to get a bit out of control. We decided that we needed to trim them up a bit so that that the little man could see (or else I was about to bust out some of Hannah's clips). Here are some pics from the bang cutting ceremony.
He's not sure what's gonna happen

And now he senses danger...Mommy with scissors

And here he is...little man can see again

Busy October

October has been a busy month...with something to do pretty much every weekend. Luckily the weather was nice - so we got to get out and enjoy. Here are some pics from our adventures.

Hannah went on her first field trip - to the Pumpkin Patch

Watching cousin Dan's football game

Hanging out with "the Mash" (as in the monster mash)...clearly Alex is stunned

Bath time

So we realized the other day that the last bath time pics we had of Alex were from when he was 5 days old...oops. So we had a photo shoot one night to try to catch up (and so that we'd have a pic to give to Grammy for her bathroom).

Yummy duckie...

Action shot...splashing around

Big baby in a little tub...

Such a cute little man with his hair parted and combed (which you don't see often with his wild hair)

First trip to Deanna Rose

One super nice Saturday we headed out to Deanna Rose. It was the first trip there with the kids. Hannah loved it...even if her parents were not smart enough to find the pigs for her (we never made it to the side with all of the farm animals). We promised Hannah we'd go back when she was 3 - because then she can ride the pony (you gotta be 3).

Heading in...

In the cow barn...and yes...her parents made her do this.

Trying to ride the tractor...still just a little too big.

Enjoying her first ice cream  --- in a cone. She loved it!

Ah yes...a lovely picture with mommy...clearly the end of our visit.
