Squash

Alex started to eat veggies last week. Here are some pics from his first few bites of butternut squash. There were so many funny ones..this kid is full of faces! He's getting used to his food - we start green veggies this week.

"Whoa....what was that mom?"

Since we are a little slow on blogging these days, thought I'd throw in a few random pics of the kids.

Connor's Birthday Party

A few weeks ago we went to our friends Kevin and Zoe's son Connor's 4th birthday party. It was at the Party Barn at Family Life church out south. Hannah had a great time playing on all of the equipment. There was a Batman theme...so all of the kids got masks and capes as their party favors....pretty cute.

This was a super long slide. I actually heard them get stopped in the middle - and daddy had to convince Hannah to keep going.

Snake Saturday

Saturday afternoon we decided to take the kids to the Snake Saturday parade in Northtowne. Hannah wasn't all that sure about what was going on at the time...but if you'd ask her about it today - she'd tell you all about it and act like she loved it. It was nice to get out and enjoy some warmer weather.

Goodbye GaGa

Last Thursday we said goodbye to my grandma - known to Hannah as GaGa (she calls my mom and grandma both GaGa actually). Grandma was 94 years old - and although Alzheimer's disease robbed her of her last days, she still accomplished a great many things over the years. At her visitation, some woman talked about the fact that grandma was "ahead of her" time...and when I stopped to think about it, she really was. She worked all of her life, many times two jobs. She raised 3 children (she even had them a little later in life than was popular at that time) - all of which are well educated and successful. And no matter how busy she was - she always made time to do the things she enjoyed like cooking, sewing, or even playing cards. She was a huge influence on me growing up - and I am just glad that she got to meet my little ones. She will be missed.

Alex's Baptism

Alex was baptized this Saturday. He did a great job and actually slept through the part where the priest pours the water over his head...and was even good when he walked him around the church and sang to him. We had family and friends over after - and he was a bit tired of partying by then. After getting him settled down - he did sleep through the entire night...must have been the holy water!

The little man in his all white gear...he's very serious.

Check out my hat.
Such a cute little face.

Somebody was really interested in the water.

Rice Cereal

Last week we decided it was time to add rice cereal to Alex's diet..the big little man just wasn't ever getting full. He's still mastering the art of eating from the spoon - but I have a feeling he'll get the hang of it very soon. Here are a few pics of his first bites.

More please...
